JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) coordinates with the Polri Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Task Force to follow up on the prevalence of cases of alleged fraud in the sale and purchase of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG).

Deputy Head of BGN Irjen (Purn) Sony Sanjaya said this coordination was carried out following the many cases of fraud in the sale and purchase of SPPG points in various regions.

"Every day I get a lot of information about the victims of these individuals. Therefore, I need to take steps to coordinate with the MBG Polri Task Force, which also includes a lot of communication with the police," he said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 25.

He revealed that one of the cases that was quite significant was reported at the West Java Police with a total loss of Rp1.9 billion for the victims.

"It was 21 victims. So, on average, each person lost Rp100 million," he said.

With this coordination, he hopes that the police in the region can help uncover individuals who take advantage of and tarnish the MBG program.

"We must take care of this program. This program is a noble program. Do not let its implementation be underutilized by irresponsible individuals," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the MBG Task Force, Inspector General Nurworo Danang, said his party fully supports the law enforcement process against parties who misuse the MBG program to take personal advantage by violating the law.

"There have been several reports of complaints that have been handled in several police," he said.

Inspector General Nurworo appealed to the public to report to the police if they found violations or deviations in the MBG program, including the sale and purchase of SPPG points.

"Immediately reported to the local law enforcement, whether it is the local police or the police who will later be followed up and will be investigated in accordance with existing regulations," he said.

One of the alleged fraud in the name of the MBG program was carried out by a woman from the Pondok Permata Housing, Babelan Regency, Bekasi, West Java.

The victim who was deceived is reported to have deposited a sum of money worth tens of millions. The modus operandi of the perpetrator is to lure by opening SPPG with a profit that is many times greater.
