The Rector of UMJ, Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Si., in his speech said that every graduate has a different life journey so parents do not need to give demands beyond the ability of their children. According to him, there are graduates who have worked, are still looking for careers, to have not found a job after graduating and this is part of the life process.
"Allah gives his servants a test according to their ability. So don't demand more than our sons and daughters can do," said UMJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Ma'mun Murod, M.Si., in a statement, Saturday, May 23, 2026.
He also emphasized the importance of a balance between spiritual relationships and real efforts in daily life.
"Hablu minallah and hablu minannas must be balanced. The prayers of parents for their children will be answered, insyaallah, about when the time is God's will," he added.
In the second session, the Chairman of the Daily UMJ Foundation Board and Minister of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, M.Ed., expressed his appreciation to all graduates for the academic achievements they have achieved. He called graduation as a milestone to enter the journey of professional careers and hopes that graduates will be able to make a real contribution to the nation.
"Graduation is a momentum and the initial milestone for you to take a new step in your respective professional careers. We certainly hope that you can be part of the generation of the nation who contribute significantly in solving various problems in our homeland," he said.
In addition, the Head of LLDikti Region III, Dr. Henri Togar Hasiholan Tambunan, S.E., M.A., assessed UMJ as a university that consistently produces superior talents by prioritizing integrity, morality, and ethics in the midst of technological and artificial intelligence developments.
"Machines can process data very quickly, then there are things that machines do not have, namely faith, empathy, morality, and here is the true advantage of UMJ," he said.
The UMJ Graduation Period I 2026 also presents a strong international and inclusive atmosphere. As an Islamic campus that upholds the value of rahmatan lil alamin, UMJ not only graduates international students, but also disabled students to non-Muslim graduates who have successfully completed their education well in an academic environment that respects diversity. This shows UMJ's commitment to building an open, humanistic, and inclusive higher education without abandoning the values of Islam that are the identity of the university.
The international atmosphere was evident from the presence of the Ambassador of Yemen to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Salem Ahmed Abdulrahman Balfakeeh, at the first graduation session. The presence of international students in the graduation procession also confirms UMJ's position as a campus that is increasingly trusted by students from various countries.
Meanwhile, the spirit of inclusiveness is reflected in the story of the best graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture, Danka Rahmadina Talogo, who is a disabled student. In his testimony, he admitted that he was worried about facing discrimination when he first chose UMJ. However, the experience during the education process actually made him feel accepted without seeing his physical condition.
"When I chose UMJ, I was initially afraid, like there was bullying, there was discrimination against my physical appearance, but when I attended the Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB), I felt that all the committee members and friends accepted me, without seeing me from a physical perspective," he said.
With a total of 1,176 graduates consisting of 26 doctors, 239 masters, 28 specialists, 882 bachelors, and 1 diploma three, the UMJ Graduation Period I in 2026 is a reflection of UMJ's commitment as an Islamic campus that is superior, modern, inclusive, and globally competitive.
