Commission VIII of the DPR asks the Ministry of Home Affairs to revoke the KBIHU permit for the tent stall

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Abidin Fikri asked the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) to revoke the operational permit of the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU) which was proven to have set a quota in the tent for haj pilgrims specifically before wukuf in Arafah to carry out illegal levies.

He assessed that this action not only violated the ethics of the service of the organization of the hajj, but also endangered the rights and safety of the pilgrims and damaged the credibility of the national hajj organization, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Religion.

"We will not tolerate commercialization and practices that worsen the quality of the implementation of the Indonesian people's hajj," said Abidin as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 22.

He said the hajj was a sacred trust whose implementation must ensure the safety, equality, and honor of the pilgrims. According to him, if there are parties who use their position to seek personal or group profit, the state must act decisively.

The DPR Hajj Supervisory Team and Commission VIII of the DPR, he said, are committed to continue to closely monitor the technical arrangements for the placement of tents and facilities in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).

According to him, the haj organizer must protect the access of pilgrims without discrimination until ensuring the integrated SOP between the Ministry of Religion, Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH), syarikah, and the Saudi authorities.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion on Thursday (21/5) local time, removed the markers unilaterally installed by KBIHU in a number of Arafah tents, Saudi Arabia.

In addition to these strict actions, the Ministry of Religion also reprimanded the sharikah who allowed the sticker to be installed. A number of tents managed by the Rakeen and Duyuful Bait sharikah were found to have stickers with the name of the cluster and the KBIHU writing.

On the paper that was pasted at the entrance of the tent, the KBIHU even listed the syarikah logo to make it seem like an official placement.
