TANJUNG SELOR - North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Deputy Governor (Wagub), Ingkong Ala, visited the Bulungan Regent's Office which was on fire on Wednesday night.
During the visit, Ingkong also met directly with the Regent of Bulungan, Syarwani, who was a former colleague when they both served in the Bulungan Regency Government (Pemkab).
The meeting of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Bulungan for the 2021-2025 period took place on the sidelines of an inspection of the area of the building affected by the fire.
Ingkong Ala was seen talking to Syarwani about the post-fire conditions and the handling steps that are being carried out by the local government together with the relevant authorities.
The Deputy Governor also expressed concern over the disaster that hit the Bulungan Regent's Office. He hopes that the recovery process can be carried out immediately so that government activities and public services continue to run normally.
"We are certainly concerned about this incident. The provincial government supports the handling and recovery measures taken by the Bulungan Regency Government," said Ingkong Ala, Thursday (21/5/2026).
He also appreciated the quick work of the joint officers who struggled to put out the fire so that it did not spread to other buildings in the office complex.
"We hope that the investigation process will run smoothly and the cause of the fire will be known immediately. The most important thing at this time is to ensure that public services continue to run and take steps to recover as soon as possible," he concluded.
To note, after the fire, police officers from Polresta Bulungan together with the Kaltara Police had installed a police line at the main building of the Regent's office.
A number of rooms that were severely affected by the fire were on the 2nd floor, namely the multipurpose room, the regent and deputy regent room, the regional secretary (Sekda) room, the treasurer's room, the welfare section (Kesra), the asset section, and the development and economic fields.
