BANDUNG - The trial of a lawsuit for Rp20 billion related to the West Java Chamber of Commerce dispute at the Bandung District Court was again postponed, Thursday, May 21, 2026. The reason is that the second defendant, Erwin Aksa Mahmud and his lawyer were not present.

Erwin, a politician who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), was sued by the Chairman of the West Java Kadin version of Muprov Bandung, Nizar Sungkar. In this case, the main defendant is the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie.

The panel of judges headed by Riyanto Alosyius had asked for the presence of Erwin's lawyer. However, because no one was present, the trial was postponed until June 4, 2026.

The judge considered that the trial could not be forced because it was feared that it would interfere with the trial minutes.

The agenda for the re-trial was the reading of the lawsuit by Nizar's legal team, John Sitepu and Try Laksono. The trial, which was scheduled for 09.00, only started at around 13.00. However, the lawsuit was not read.

"Because there is a defendant who is not present, the trial is postponed again. In fact, in the mediation, the judge has given time up to four meetings," said Try.

This lawsuit arose after the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry confirmed Almer Faiq Rusydi as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Nizar's camp assessed that Nizar should have been confirmed because he claimed to have fulfilled the AD/ART and the regulations of the Kadin organization.

In addition to suing the ratification decree, Nizar also demanded compensation. For immaterial losses, he asked for Rp. 20 billion.

This dispute began with two Provincial Consultative Meetings or Muprov Kadin West Java on September 24, 2025. The Muprov in Bogor produced Almer Faiq Rusydi. Meanwhile, the Muprov in Grand Preanger Bandung chose Nizar Sungkar.

According to Nizar's lawyer, the lawsuit is divided into three groups. The first group is the elements of the Central Chamber of Commerce, namely Anindya Bakrie, Erwin Aksa, Taufan Eko Nugroho, and Doddy Ahmad Firdaus.

The second group is the Muprov Jabar Kadin committee from the caretaker element. The third group is Almer Faiq Rusydi, Chairman of the Muprov Bogor version of Jabar Kadin.

Nizar's camp stated that the Muprov Bandung was held by the interim management or caretaker formed by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce through the SKEP/030/DP/IV/2025 Decree dated April 30, 2025.

They also said that the results of the Muprov Bandung had been submitted to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce on October 9, 2025 for ratification. However, the request was not granted.

On the other hand, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointed Almer Faiq Rusydi as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce for the period 2025-2030 on November 27, 2025 in Cirebon.

On this basis, Nizar filed a lawsuit for illegal acts to the Bandung PN. This West Java Chamber of Commerce dispute has not yet been included in the main case because the reading of the lawsuit is still pending.
