Bali Police Uncover 2.3 Kilograms of Methamphetamine in Denpasar

DENPASAR - The Bali Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate has dismantled the circulation of 2.3 kilograms of methamphetamine in the Denpasar area, Bali.

In the disclosure, the police arrested a suspect named Guruh Krisna Adi Putra along with evidence of ready-to-use methamphetamine.

Kasubbid Penmas Humas Polda Bali AKBP Rina Isriana Dewi mengatakan pengungkapan kasus bermula dari informasi masyarakat terkait dugaan aktivitas peredaran narkotika di kawasan Jalan Cokroaminoto, Denpasar Utara.

"The Opsnal Team of Unit 3 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba of the Bali Police then conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect in a boarding house in Gang Jatayu, Jalan Cokroaminoto, North Denpasar," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 21.

From the search at the first location, the police found six packages of clear crystals suspected to be methamphetamine with a total weight of 2,375.96 grams brutto or 2,250.44 grams netto. The evidence was stored in a black shopping bag.

In addition to the crystal meth, the police also seized one mobile phone unit which was suspected to be used by the suspect to communicate regarding the circulation of narcotics.

The officers then conducted an expansion and search at the suspect's residence in the Benoa area, South Kuta, Badung.

According to AKBP Rina's statement, from the second location, the police found supporting tools for the circulation of narcotics in the form of clear plastic clips, digital scales, spoons, and black cloth bags.

Based on the results of the initial examination, the suspect admitted that he obtained the methamphetamine from someone whose identity is still being investigated by the police.

"The perpetrator stored narcotics of the type of methamphetamine to be redistributed," said Rina.

Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been secured at the Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate to undergo further investigation.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 of the Narcotics Law with a threat of life imprisonment or a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
