"We have processed the scene and checked the surveillance camera which showed a man who carried out the action," said Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Kiki Tanlim in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He said the apartment was inhabited by a foreign citizen from India with the initials MPM (40) who was not in their unit at the time of the incident.

According to him, the incident occurred at 07.30 WIB and at that time the victim was shopping with his family at the market. However, the victim forgot to lock the door of the apartment unit on the sixth floor of the building.

After the victim returned to the apartment unit, the victim saw that the laptop or laptop on the front desk of the door was missing or stolen.

The victim then checked the surveillance camera and found a perpetrator wearing a red jacket entering through the unlocked front door.

"The perpetrator took the victim's laptop which was on the front desk of the entrance," he said.

After being traced, the perpetrator entered the victim's unit through the emergency staircase access.

"Due to this incident, the victim reported to the Kelapa Gading Police," he said.

The Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to the location and took the statements of a number of witnesses, and examined a number of evidence in the form of security camera recordings and others.
