JAKARTA - Member of the 2026 DPR Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas) from the PKB, Neng Eem Marhamah Zulfa, asked the relevant ministries to tighten and strengthen services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims ahead of the peak of the Armuzna phase (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina).
Neng Eem emphasized that logistics of consumption and the readiness of the transportation fleet were the two most crucial points that must be anticipated so that there would be no chaos in the field.
"We ask the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to strengthen services to Indonesian pilgrims, especially ahead of the peak performance of Hajj. Two issues that we think are very crucial are consumption and transportation," said Neng Eem in his statement, Tuesday, May 19.
The legislator from the West Java constituency also warned the catering provider to distribute the food on time. He did not want to hear reports that Indonesian pilgrims were hungry or late eating due to the chaotic distribution in the maktab tents.
"We ask that no pilgrims are late in receiving food or even not getting food during the peak of the hajj. Please make sure this is fulfilled well. The food received by the pilgrims must also be in accordance with standards and have a typical Indonesian taste," he said.
For the transportation sector, Neng Eem asked for certainty in the pick-up-and-drop-off system for pilgrims from hotels in Mecca to Arafah, until the shift to Muzdalifah and Mina runs smoothly. According to him, the evaluation from the previous Hajj season must be a valuable lesson.
"We ask that no more pilgrims have to walk from Muzdalifah to Mina during the peak of Hajj. Ensure that adequate transportation is available for Indonesian pilgrims. The best service must be provided to all pilgrims," said Neng Eem.
Responding to the limited space in Mina, the DPR Team encouraged the optimization of tent capacity and massive socialization if the Murur scheme (passing through Muzdalifah without getting off the bus) and Tanazul (returning pilgrims to hotels early) are applied in the 2026 Hajj season.
Neng Eem detailed three important notes that must be ensured to be safe by officers. First, the pilgrims who enter the murur scheme must be ensured to remain inside the bus when crossing Muzdalifah and immediately directed to Mina in order to disperse the density.
Second, for the tanazul scheme, the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and the synchronization of data for sick or elderly pilgrims must be prioritized so as not to confuse them in the field. Finally, the supply and readiness of medical teams at strategic Armuzna posts must be on standby 24 hours a day.
"This year's Hajj is a momentum to ensure that services to pilgrims run optimally. We ask that adequate health services be ensured and medicines be available if needed," he concluded.
