JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (Dishub) will implement traffic engineering on Jalan Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, as a result of the construction project of the Pump Water Management System which will be carried out until August 2027.
During the project, a number of road points will lose one lane and the Transjakarta separator will be dismantled for 1.6 kilometers.
Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Ujang Harmawan said the work was carried out at four pump house points, namely Depag Pump House, KM 13 Pump House, KM 13A Pump House, and KM 13B Pump House.
"The work location is on Jalan Daan Mogot, namely the Depag Pump House, KM 13 Pump House, KM 13A Pump House, and KM 13B Pump House," said Ujang in his statement, Friday, May 15.
Ujang explained that work at each point would occupy one lane of the road. This condition makes pedestrian access diverted and vehicles must share lanes with other traffic flows or mix traffic.
For the location of the Depag Pump House, the work is on the south side of Jalan Daan Mogot, right next to the Pesing flyover offramp towards Kalideres.
"During the work, the park area will be used and occupy 1 lane of the road along the work area, so that pedestrian access will be channeled on the left side of the road," said Ujang.
Meanwhile, the work of the KM 13 Pump House is on the south side of Jalan Daan Mogot, opposite Mitsubishi Motors. The KM 13B Pump House is after the Pulo Nangka Transjakarta Stop, while the KM 13A Pump House is after the New Bridge Transjakarta Stop.
At these three points, traffic will be enforced in two lanes of mix traffic during construction work.
"The construction work will be completed from January 7, 2026 to August 6, 2027," he said.
Dishub also revealed that the Transjakarta lane separator on the south side of Jalan Daan Mogot along approximately 1.6 kilometers will be dismantled temporarily to maintain vehicle lane consistency during the project.
"As an effort to optimize the consistency of lanes during the work, a temporary demolition of the Transjakarta separator on the south side of Jalan Daan Mogot along ±1.6 km from the KM 13 Pump House to the KM 13B Pump House, so that the Transjakarta bus becomes a mix traffic and the separator is reinstalled after the work is completed," explained Ujang.
The water management system development project is being worked on by the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Office together with PT Brantas Abipraya. Dishub asked the project implementer to be fully responsible for the safety of road users around the work site.
"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Water Resources Service as the initiator and PT Brantas Abipraya as the contractor for the construction of the Daan Mogot Pump Water Management System of the West Jakarta Administrative City are fully responsible for the safety and security of road users," said Ujang.
Drivers are advised to avoid the Daan Mogot Road during the work because the potential for traffic congestion is expected to increase around the project area.
"It is urged that road users avoid the road section and can adjust the traffic arrangements set, comply with traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field, and prioritize safety on the road," he explained.
