Police Name 5 Suspects in Child Prostitution Case at a Karaoke in Daan Mogot

JAKARTA - The police have named five suspects in a case of alleged prostitution of underage girls at a karaoke venue in the Jalan Daan Mogot area, North Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta (Jakbar).

"Currently, we have detained five suspects," said Head of the Women and Children Protection and Eradication of Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Nunu Suparmi, when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday (14/5).

He said his party carried out a raid on May 9, 2026 by securing 22 people.

"There are LC (escort women), there are pimps, and there are cashiers. Well, of the 22 we secured, two underage children with initials F (17 years old) and S (16 years old). The children we secured are from Lampung and from Bogor," said Nunu.

He said the entertainment venue had a permit as a karaoke business, but there were allegations of prostitution practices at the place.

"Yes, we received the report that it was a karaoke place, where the permit was also karaoke. But after we conducted an inspection, that there was prostitution prepared by the owner," said Nunu.

The victims, he said, had worked for two to three years.

"Currently, we are still conducting the investigation process and we are still developing to find other suspects," said Nunu.

Until now, the place has been sealed for further legal proceedings.
