JAKARTA - Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani revealed a number of issues that are currently of concern to the DPR. Starting from supervision of childcare institutions (daycare) following the case of violence against children, supervision of residential educational institutions, to evaluation of land transportation safety and fulfillment of the rights of victims of sexual violence.

"The oversight function of the DPR RI will be directed at various strategic issues that are of concern to the public and are important for the Government to resolve," said Puan in his opening speech at the DPR building, Tuesday, May 12.

Puan then detailed strategic issues of concern to the DPR and will be accompanied by related council equipment (AKD). Puan said the DPR also oversees the guarantee of balance between the availability and price of basic necessities so that they are affordable for the public, the acceleration of the implementation of sustainability practices in SOEs to maintain business continuity and increase Indonesia's competitiveness in the global market, and the development of industrial areas to strengthen the downstream of agricultural and fishery products.
