TANJUNG SELOR - The Bulungan Regency DPRD highlighted the health sector in the recommendation for the Bulungan Regency Accountability Report (LKPJ) for the 2025 Fiscal Year, which was presented at the Bulungan DPRD Plenary Meeting, Monday (11/5/2026).

Deputy Chairman of the Bulungan DPRD Dwi Sugiarto said that one of the main concerns of the DPRD was that the construction of the Bunyu Pratama Hospital had not been continued in 2025. This condition has an impact on public health services on Bunyu Island which until now still needs a representative health facility.

"Bunyu Pratama Hospital is asked to continue to continue its construction considering the need for public health services on Bunyu Island must be met," said Dwi Sugiarto when reading the DPRD recommendation.

He emphasized that in addition to the construction of hospitals, his party also highlighted the existence of health equipment that had been held in conjunction with the hospital construction project.

"We ask the local government through the relevant services to ensure that all health equipment can be used optimally," he said.

He explained, the recommendation of the LKPJ DPRD Pansus also asked for the optimization of health services at the Bunyu Health Center so that the community could still get adequate health services during the construction of the hospital was not completed.

"In addition to Bunyu Island, the DPRD also highlighted the failure to realize the construction of the Tanah Kuning Health Center in the East Tanjung Palas District due to land constraints," he explained.

He added, the DPRD considers the construction of a new health center in the area to be important considering the increasing population growth along with the development of industrial areas and national strategic projects.

"The construction of the Tanah Kuning Health Center needs to be realized immediately to accommodate the increasing public health services," said Dwi.

Not only about health infrastructure, the DPRD also highlighted the lack of health workers in a number of village health centers which were considered to have an impact on the quality of public services in rural and coastal areas.

"Therefore, we ask the Health Office (Dinkes) of Bulungan Regency to carry out the equalization of medical and health personnel throughout the region," he said.

His party also reminded the Health Office together with BPJS Kesehatan and RSUD dr Soemarno Sosroatmodjo to increase the socialization of BPJS services to the public so that health services are easier to access.

"It is expected that the regional government will prioritize the health sector in allocating regional budgets in the midst of the fiscal condition of Bulungan Regency which has declined in 2026," he concluded.
