Mensos has 5,000 Prejahtera Family Data for House Surgery Recipients

JAKARTA - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf confirmed that his party had collected 5,000 pre-prosperous family data who had met the requirements to become recipients of home surgery assistance.

"What is now clean and clear is 5 thousand (pre-prosperous family data). It has been carried out ground check, then it has been confirmed that it meets the requirements," said Saifullah as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 11.

The government targets to renovate 10,000 uninhabitable houses throughout Indonesia this year.

So from the number that has been recorded, the government is still recording another 5,000 pre-prosperous families.

"There are only 5 thousand (data) left. All in stages," said Saifullah Yusuf.

The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that the home surgery program is intended for families of students from the People's School.

The home surgery program is an implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025 concerning the Optimization of the Implementation of Poverty Alleviation and the Elimination of Extreme Poverty.

"Where the child goes to school, the parents are empowered and supported by other strategic programs of the President. One of them is the family or parents of students from the People's School who are assisted with a program to build uninhabitable houses or renovations so that their houses are more habitable," said Saifullah Yusuf.

Meanwhile, Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait added that the house renovation or house surgery program was included in the BSPS (Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance) program of the Ministry he led.

"The President prioritizes housing by significantly increasing (the budget) for home surgery, which is intended for people who already have a house, but are not yet habitable," said the minister, who is close to Ara.

In the implementation of this program, the Ministry of Social Affairs will provide data on recipients of assistance to the Ministry of Housing and Settlements, for further implementation by the Ministry of PKP.
