JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police has thwarted the circulation of hundreds of vape cartridges containing THC in the West Jakarta area.
Deputy Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police, Kompol Indah Hartantiningrum, explained that the arrest of the perpetrator occurred on Thursday (7/5) early morning.
"In the disclosure, a man with the initials A (32) was secured in the Jalan Boulevard Raya area, Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Thursday (7/5)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 9.
Indah explained that the arrest was carried out at around 00.20 WIB after the police received information from the public regarding the alleged abuse of narcotics in the area.
"The team of Subdit 1 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya then conducted an investigation and moved to the location in question," he said.
During the search, officers found as many as 120 vape cartridges containing the narcotic substance tomidate.
"The evidence was found inside a red bag wrapped in cardboard. In addition, the police also secured one Android mobile phone belonging to the suspected perpetrator," said Indah.
Indah said that at present the suspected perpetrator and also the evidence had been secured at the Ditresnarkoba office of the Polda Metro Jaya for further examination.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, revealed that drug eradication was a shared responsibility.
"However small the information from the community, it is very useful for the police, starting from the nearest and surrounding environment so that we can all care," said Budi.
He also asked residents to immediately report potential disturbances of public security and order (kamtibmas) through the 110 National Police Call Center which is active 24 hours a day.
