JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has a dialogue with fishermen and shrimp farmers to absorb the aspirations of coastal communities while reviewing the Red and White Fishermen's Village (KNMP) in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung, Lampung.

Reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 8, the dialogue was held to directly listen to various aspirations and constraints faced by coastal communities.

The Vice President emphasized the importance of collaboration between all parties in successfully implementing President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs, especially in the field of food self-sufficiency.

"Basically we want to succeed the priority program of the President, especially food self-sufficiency. This program will not succeed if only the government works. We all have to work together," said Gibran.

The Vice President also conveyed that the government continues to strive to meet the various needs of the community in the agricultural and fisheries sectors to support increased productivity and community welfare.

"We will complete one by one the shortcomings. We ask for time to complete these shortcomings," he said.

During the dialogue, fishermen conveyed a number of issues, including related to solar quotas and fishing fleet licensing.

In response to this, Gibran ensured that the government would follow up on various obstacles faced by the community so that fishing activities could run optimally.

"If there is something lacking in terms of permits, solar quotas, or other things, please immediately convey it. We will immediately follow up," he said.

In addition to dialoguing with fishermen and shrimp farmers, the Vice President also reviewed a number of facilities to support fishing activities that have been built at the KNMP, such as a fishing fuel filling station (SPBN), portable freezer warehouse, and portable ice factory.

On that occasion, Gibran emphasized that the development of KNMP must be able to transform fishing villages into productive, modern, and integrated areas so as to provide greater added value for the community.

"Maximize facilities and services so that the community can focus on fishing and increase production," he said.

Also accompanying the Vice President on the visit were the Governor of Lampung Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, the Regent of East Lampung Ela Siti Nuryamah, the Director General of Capture Fisheries of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Lotharia Latif, and the Head of Margasari Village Wahyu Jaya.
