JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled the examination of nine witnesses for alleged bribery of road construction projects in the environment of the North Sumatra Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) as well as road preservation projects at the National Road Development Unit (Satker) North Sumatra Region I. One of them is Topan Obaja Putra Ginting as the Head of PUPR Sumut 2025.
The examination was carried out after the issuance of a new investigation order (sprindik) to develop the case that initially ensnared Topan Obaja Ginting et al. last year.
"The examination was carried out at the BPKP Representative for North Sumatra Province," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Thursday, May 7.
The following are the nine witnesses who were questioned in this case:
1. Dison Pardamean Togarorop as Head of the Planning Section for Road Construction, PUPR Provincial Office. North Sumatra; 2. Ratno Adi Setiawan as Head of Wil III BBPJN North Sumatra; 3. They are Rasuli Effendi Siregar as Head of the Gunung Tua UPTD of the North Sumatra Provincial PUPR Department and the Commitment Maker Officer (PPK); Heliyanto as the PPK of the PJN Region I of North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi Pilang as the Director of PT RN.
They were named as suspects after being caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in North Sumatra on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in a road development project in the province.
As previously reported, the KPK stated that the opportunity to develop cases in North Sumatra was open as long as there were facts and evidence that investigators had. According to him, this kind of development is usually carried out by the KPK.
"This activity was caught on the spot and was also a way to see whether similar corruption modes also occurred in other sectors or regions," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo through his written statement, Thursday, December 4.
Furthermore, the KPK announced a new investigation order (sprindik) to investigate alleged corruption in North Sumatra Province. However, there is no name of a suspect in the policy, which means that the investigation is still general.
