JAKARTA - The Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf stated his readiness to be examined and audited regarding the procurement process of goods and services at the People's School as a form of transparency in the management of the budget and the implementation of programs in the Social Ministry (Kemensos).
"We are very open to being audited, examined as part of our efforts to prevent irregularities in the procurement of goods and services in the Ministry of Social Affairs," said the Ministry of Social Affairs, Wednesday, May 6, as reported by ANTARA.
The Minister of Social Affairs stated that his party was open to an examination and planned to meet with the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to report on all stages of the procurement process that had been carried out.
According to him, this step is part of an evaluation effort before entering the procurement process for goods and services in 2026.
"We are open and if there is time tomorrow, we will meet with the leadership of the KPK to report all the processes we have gone through. This is a good opportunity for us to evaluate before we carry out the procurement of goods and services in 2026," he continued.
The Minister of Social Affairs appreciated the attention of various parties and ensured coordination with law enforcement agencies, including the police and the KPK.
Gus Ipul emphasized that openness to audits and inspections was carried out as part of the commitment to prevent potential irregularities in the procurement of goods and services in the ministry environment.
"So once again we thank you and we will coordinate, of course, the wisdom of the police and including the KPK," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
His party plans to hold an audience with the leadership of the KPK to get input regarding the procurement of goods at the People's School. "I asked for time because it was there, let's say, in my opinion, an opinion that should be listened to from the KPK," he said.
In the meeting with the KPK, he continued, all data and processes related to the procurement of goods carried out for the operation of the People's School, including the procurement of shoes for students, which had been discussed on social media in recent times.
"So, we listen to the KPK's opinion very much and we will follow up to know more," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
According to him, the advice and suggestions from the KPK are needed to ensure a better procurement process.
Regarding the ongoing process, the Minister of Social Affairs ensured that procurement for the People's School was transparent and in accordance with legal provisions. By determining the price of goods, it was carried out through market surveys and consultations first.
"Especially for the procurement of shoes, each student gets four pairs of shoes consisting of daily shoes, sports shoes, daily uniform shoes (PDH), and field uniform shoes (PDL)," he said.
Based on the data on the realization presented by the Ministry of Social Affairs on Tuesday (5/5), the price of PDL student shoes has a ceiling of Rp. 700,000 with an auction realization price of Rp. 640,000.
Meanwhile, for daily shoes for SMP and SMA levels, the realized price reached Rp300,000 from the ceiling of Rp500,000, and the SD level is Rp250,000.
