Man Found Dead with Blood in Front of Cengkareng Residents' House

JAKARTA - A man was found dead on the side of Jalan Pintu Seng, Pedongkelan, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Monday, May 4, 2026, afternoon.

The victim was found at around 15.00 WIB. When found, the victim was in a prone position right in front of the residents' fence in the area.

The death of the man wearing a black shirt and checkered shorts had attracted a crowd of residents. Residents approached the victim's body to confirm his identity.

From the judge's statement, the residents around, the deceased was allegedly beaten by a man with a sharp weapon type celurit.

"The perpetrator wore a sweater and carried a machete. The perpetrator fled," he said at the location.

Then, residents reported the incident to the West Jakarta Metro Police and Cengkareng Police.

The police who arrived at the location immediately carried out the crime scene and the identification process of the victim's body. The police also put up a yellow "police line" at the location for the sake of investigation.

The victim's body was then taken to the Polri Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta for an autopsy.

Head of Public Relations of West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Wisnu confirmed the incident.

"It is still under investigation. Please give the investigators time to reveal it," he briefly told VOI, Monday, May 4, afternoon.
