3 WNA Ghana Allegedly Bodong Investors Arrested by Bali Immigration

DENPASAR - The Denpasar Immigration Office, Bali, has secured three foreign nationals from Ghana for entering Indonesia allegedly using a limited residence permit for investors and without clear immigration documents.

"We are still investigating the three of them further," said Head of Denpasar Immigration R.Haryo Sakti, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 24.

The three Indonesian citizens, with initials SKY, aged 46, ENA, aged 44, and IA, aged 49.

They were dragged to the Denpasar Immigration Office to be questioned after being caught in the Dharma Dewata immigration operation.

Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Officers previously received reports from the public regarding the three foreigners who were suspected of violating immigration rules.

The officers then went to the residence of the three foreigners from the African continent at one of the inns in the Pemogan area, South Denpasar.

Based on immigration crossing data, the three entered Indonesia through Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, at the end of 2025 and were known to hold limited residence permits as investors.

However, during the examination, officers found several irregularities, namely ENA and IA could not show their original passports. Meanwhile, SKY was unable to explain clearly about the company that sponsored his investment.

"This supervision is carried out to maintain order and ensure the presence of foreigners has a positive impact on Bali," he said.

In addition to tightening supervision, the Dharma Dewata Task Force also plays a role in providing a quick response to various potential violations.

The presence of the operation is expected to be able to reduce the number of violations of the law by foreigners in order to increase a sense of security among the community, as well as to be a means of direct immigration education in the open space.

Based on data from the Bali Directorate General of Immigration Regional Office, in the period from January 1 to April 12, 2026, Immigration Bali has carried out Immigration Administrative Actions in the form of 165 deportations and 62 detection actions.
