JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) officially temporarily stopped the operation of the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) Kembang Seri 1 kitchen in the Central Bengkulu Regency after a number of middle school students suffered from poisoning allegedly consuming the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

"We have made a special report to the Central BGNP and have sent out a letter for temporary dismissal until the results of the investigation are completed," said the Central Bengkulu District BGN Coordinator, Roni Vidiansyah, in Central Bengkulu Regency, Friday, April 24.

The termination of the SPPG kitchen operation was carried out until an undetermined deadline, while waiting for the conducive situation and conditions as well as the results of the examination at the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) laboratory.

If based on the results of the investigation and the BPOM laboratory explains that the students were poisoned by consuming MBG, then the central BGN will give a firm sanction to the management of the SPPG Kembang Seri 1 kitchen in the Central Bengkulu Regency.

"If proven guilty and there are SOPs that are violated, then the central BGN will give sanctions and the heaviest sanctions that will be given is the permanent revocation of the permit," said Roni.

Previously, the Central Bengkulu Regency Government (Pemkab) in Bengkulu Province conducted handling and investigation related to the alleged poisoning of a number of students at the First Middle School (SMPN) 3 due to allegedly consuming free nutritious food (MBG).

"We are concerned about this incident. The local government has instructed the task force team to conduct an investigation to ensure the accuracy of the information circulating," said the Regent of Central Bengkulu, Rachmat Riyanto.

For victims who experience poisoning and are taken to the first level health facility, the district government ensures that officers provide maximum service to students who experience symptoms.

On the other hand, officers from the Bengkulu Tengah Regency Health Office (Dinkes), health centers and district task force teams have taken samples of food for laboratory testing at the Bengkulu Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

"Laboratory tests have been taken. Currently it is on its way to BPOM. Samples were taken by the Dinkes team, health centers, and district task force," said the Head of the Bengkulu Tengah Regency Health Office, Barti Hasibuan.

It is known that, based on information, the MBG menu consumed by the students who experienced poisoning was chicken woku, tofu, stir-fried chickpeas and carrots, rice, fruit, and drinking water.

For the symptoms experienced by students, they appear at different times. Some students feel complaints about an hour after eating, while others experience symptoms only a few moments after starting to eat.
