MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office has increased the handling of the alleged extortion by three prosecutors at the Dompu District Attorney's Office (Kejari) against Pajo Head of Village, Imran, to the case inspection stage.

"We will increase it to inspect the case," said Head of the NTB Prosecutor's Office Wahyudi, in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, April 23.

The case inspection is a series of internal examinations in the environment of the prosecutor's office which is under the supervision. This step is taken as an effort to uncover alleged disciplinary violations involving law enforcement officers.

The inspection mechanism of cases is regulated in Attorney General Regulation Number PER-022/A/JA/03/2011 which was later improved through Attorney General Regulation Number PER-015/A/JA/07/2013. In Article 31 it is stated that the inspection of cases is carried out for 14 days and can be extended for the next 14 days.

Wahyudi emphasized that the handling of the case would be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the discipline and the code of ethics of prosecutors.

"What is clear, we do not tolerate deviant acts. My members must remain on track in accordance with existing rules. Integrity must be maintained," he said.

This alleged extortion surfaced in the process of executing Imran's detention for a court decision that has become legally binding in the persecution case.

Imran admitted that he was asked for Rp. 30 million by three prosecutors under the pretext of being able to reduce the sentence. However, he was only able to hand over Rp. 20 million which was given directly at the Dompu District Attorney's Office.

He also said that he had made peace with the victim, so he thought the problem had been resolved. However, the legal process continued until he was detained. Imran felt that he had become a victim of fraud and extortion by the officers.

The three prosecutors suspected of being involved, with initials J, former Head of the Intelligence Section of the Dompu District Attorney's Office, K, former Head of the General Criminal Section, and IS, former Head of the Special Criminal Section.

When Imran revealed the allegations during the execution of the court's decision, the three prosecutors were known to have changed their duties.
