Appeal to Vape Consumers: Stay Away from Illegal Products, Choose Those with Tax Ribbon

JAKARTA - The rampant case of illegal electronic cigarette (vape) circulation has become a public concern, especially consumers. To minimize exposure to illegal products, consumers need to know how to choose legal products that are officially marketed as part of efforts to encourage responsible use in society.

Member of the YNCI Tangerang Chapter Community, Erwin, said legal electronic cigarettes are available in the market. These products are equipped with official tax tape so as to protect consumers from the circulation of illegal electronic cigarettes.

"We are educated to buy products (vape) that have official tax tape in a trusted place, so it's safer," said Erwin, who is part of this special motorcycle automotive community, Wednesday, April 22.

In line with Erwin, member of the Matic Dizzy Person community, Mamet, added that consumers must choose products carefully. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that both the device and the vape liquid used are legal products because they meet the provisions set by the government.

"To minimize the misuse of electronic cigarettes, we as users must be responsible by only buying products with tax stamps," said Mamet.

Not only that, he also emphasized the importance of using ethical electronic cigarettes in public spaces. The main principle of using this low-risk product is not to disturb others, including by not carelessly throwing away cartridge waste or liquid bottles.

"Vape users must be responsible. The point is that we know the place, don't force it in places that are prohibited," said Mamet.

Chairman of the Free TAR & Tobacco Smoke Movement, Garindra Kartasasmita, agreed with the message conveyed by Erwin and Mamet. Consumers of electronic cigarettes need to understand the ethics of using the product, especially knowing the right place and time. Because, some electronic cigarette devices can produce large amounts of vapor so that users need to be wise so as not to disturb people around, especially in closed spaces and public areas.

"At least if you exhale the vapor upwards. Moreover, if, for example, in a community or hangout, we must remind each other about the ethics of using this," explained Garin.
