JAKARTA - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Kaltara) received an audience with PT Indonesia Transit Synergy (INTRA) regarding the investment plan for the construction of a railway network.

In a meeting at the Kaltara Liaison Office, Jakarta, PT INTRA President Director Rully Noviandar explained the plan to develop a railway network with an investment value of Rp. 20-25 trillion. The project is said to be fully financed by investors without using government funds.

"All project financing will be borne by investors without using government funds," said Rully, Tuesday, April 21.

The Secretary of the Investment and One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP) of Kaltara, Rahman Putrayani, revealed that the plan to develop the railway in Kaltara had previously been included in the National Railway Master Plan (RIPNas) 2030 and had gone through the feasibility study (FS) and detailed engineering design (DED) stages.

"Currently, the local government is updating the master plan to match the current conditions. The master plan has reached the feasibility study (FS) and detailed engineering design (DED) stages, adjustments are currently being made," he said.

He added that the local government was also preparing document updates and legal studies for the draft cooperation.

"We are preparing an update of documents and legal studies for cooperation," said Rahman.

The audience was also attended by elements of the leadership of the Kaltara DPRD, regional heads, and a number of related officials.

This meeting is the first step in realizing the construction of a railway network in Kaltara which has so far been in the planning stage.
