JAKARTA - The University of Indonesia (UI) has strengthened the process of handling cases of Electronic-Based Sexual Violence (KSBE) in the Faculty of Law by forming a Task Force Expert Team for Prevention and Handling of Violence (Satgas PPK).
Director of Public, Media, Government, and International Relations of UI, Erwin Agustian Panigoro, said the involvement of experts was part of the university's commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of the examination process.
"Currently, the handling process has reached the examination stage. UI ensures that each stage is carried out carefully and based on the principles of independence and accountability," he said.
He said this decision was made based on Rector's Decree Number 360/SK/R/UI/2026 as an effort to ensure that the investigation process is comprehensive, objective, and fair for the report with Complaint Number 73-FH-VI-2026.
Erwin said the formation of the Expert Team was a strategic step to support the deepening of the report by the PPK Task Force and to ensure that the examination process was objective.
"The team's expertise is divided functionally, including assessment and assistance to victims, fact-finding and evidence, legal analysis, and social and wisdom approaches to ensure thorough, independent, and accountable investigations," he said.
He said the case handling process was carried out in five stages, namely the receipt of reports, examination of victims, collection and deepening of evidence, and examination of the accused, victims, and witnesses, accompanied by additional assessments, such as psychological evaluations to strengthen the evidence.
All findings were then discussed in an internal meeting of the inspection team to formulate recommendations, which at the final stage were submitted to university leaders as a basis for decision-making.
UI emphasized that all stages of handling were carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions by referring to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation Number 55 of 2024 and UI Rector Regulation Number 37 of 2025 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Environment of the University of Indonesia.
During the handling process, the public is urged not to spread unverified information and avoid speculation that could potentially interfere with the handling process.
Commitment to the principles of objectivity, confidentiality and accountability continues to be maintained at every stage.
The development of the case will be conveyed periodically through the university's official channels carefully and accurately.
