One Family in North Barito Was Killed, 5 People Died

JAKARTA - The tragic massacre of a family of victims in the HPH PT Timber Dana company area, Benangin II Village, East Teweh District, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan which borders East Kalimantan province.

The incident occurred on Sunday (19/4) at around 16.30 WIB, one family was a victim in the incident.

Of the six victims, five were declared dead, while another one was critically injured and is currently undergoing intensive care at Muara Teweh Hospital.

The victims who died were residents of Benangin II Village, East Teweh District, namely Cuah (55), Hasna (40), Tasya Haulina (17), David (3) and Ono (50). Meanwhile, the critically injured victim named Alfian, aged 40, is still being treated at the Muara Teweh Hospital.

Reported by ANTARA, from the testimony of the witness who was also a survivor, the incident began when the victims were at the scene. Around 16.30 WIB, three suspected perpetrators came using a Kijang-type car. They are suspected of carrying sharp weapons and homemade firearms.

The perpetrator then asked the victim's identity before brutally attacking using a sharp weapon. Not only that, the perpetrator was also said to have searched for other victims around the location and returned to the stabbing action.

After the victims lay down helplessly, the perpetrator allegedly burned the victim's hut or stall before finally fleeing around 17.30 WIB.

Residents who knew about the incident immediately provided assistance to the victim who was still alive. Alfian was then rushed to Muara Teweh Hospital using a resident vehicle.

Meanwhile, the process of evacuating the deceased victims was carried out by medical teams using five ambulances on Monday (20/4). All the bodies arrived at Muara Teweh Hospital around 11.00 WIB and were immediately taken to the mortuary.

The identities of the three suspected perpetrators have been known, namely Lukas (55), Pusen (50), and Mano (52), who are all residents of Benangin I Village, East Teweh District. Until now, the authorities are still conducting further investigations and pursuing the perpetrators.
