PANDEGLANG - The Banten Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) continues to strive to improve the quality of broadcast content in the digital era. Through the Institutional Sector, the Banten KPID held an educational talk show on Radio Krakatau FM Pandeglang to discuss the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the broadcasting world.
Present as the main speaker, Commissioner for Institutional Affairs of the Banten KPID, Talitha Almira, emphasized that adapting technology is the key for local broadcasting institutions to remain relevant and competitive.
AI is Not Just a Trend, but a Broadcasting Need
In his presentation, Talitha explained that AI can help radio and television stations in Banten Province to produce more creative, fast, and personal content.
"AI is a great tool to strengthen the role of humans, not to replace the originality and humanity that are the life of a broadcast," said Talitha.
Some of the tangible benefits of AI discussed include:
Data Management Efficiency: Simplifying the filing and search of broadcast materials. Script Automation: Accelerating the production process of news and daily programs. Audio & Visual Restoration: Producing clearer sound and image quality for viewers.Main Rules of Use of AI: Must Obey Broadcasting Law
Even though technology is developing rapidly, the Banten KPID reminds broadcasting institutions to remain compliant with Law Number 32 of 2002 concerning Broadcasting. Innovation must not violate applicable ethics, norms, and technical rules.
Specifically, Talitha dissected the Central KPI Circular (SE) Number 1 of 2026. This rule requires broadcasting institutions to:
Listing AI Labels: Provide clear information if a content is a product of AI. Information Transparency: Maintain the honesty of journalistic products so as not to mislead the public. Prevent Disinformation: Ensure that AI is not used to manipulate information or spread hoaxes.Integrity and Verification Challenge
The Banten KPID appeals to broadcasting institutions, especially in the Pandeglang area, not to be complacent with the ease of AI. The verification process and fact-checking remain the top priority.
"Broadcasting institutions must stick to the Broadcasting Code of Conduct and Broadcast Program Standards (P3SPS). Don't let AI be used to spread content that is contrary to state rules," he said.
Closing the activities at Radio Krakatau FM, KPID Banten invites all broadcasting personnel to continue to learn and adapt. The synergy between the use of smart technology and strict regulations is expected to be able to transform the broadcasting industry in Banten into a modern, educational, and reliable media in the midst of the onslaught of social media.
