BANDUNG - The Bandung Regency District Attorney's Office (Kejari), West Java, has named the President Director of PT Bandung Daya Sentosa (BDS) as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of chicken breasts that harmed the state up to Rp. 125 billion.

Head of the Intelligence Section (Kasi Intel) of the Bandung Regency District Attorney's Office, Akhmad Fakhri, explained that this case began with the cooperation in the procurement of boneless (without bones) chest (BLD) which in its implementation was suspected to be not in accordance with the provisions.

"From the results of the investigation of the procurement of ayamboneless, there was found to be an act against the law that resulted in a state loss of IDR 125 billion," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 14.

The determination of the suspect was carried out after investigators obtained sufficient evidence in the case of alleged irregularities in the procurement of chicken commodities at the regional business entity (BUMD).

He explained that in the implementation of this cooperation there were discrepancies between the agreement and the realization in the field, which resulted in losses.

"This activity should have been carried out according to the contract, but in practice there were irregularities," he said.

In addition, the procurement activities also involved vendors, but the obligations that should be fulfilled were not realized as they should.

Investigators also found indications of abuse of authority in the management of the business activities.

Akhmad said that in the investigation process, his party had examined dozens of witnesses.

"The determination of the suspect is based on a series of investigative actions. We have examined witnesses of approximately 40 people," he said.

In addition to the President Director of PT BDS with the initials YB, investigators also named another suspect with the initials C who is the President Director of PT Cahaya Frozen Raya (CFR).

"C is the President Director of PT CFR. However, the person concerned has been detained in another case, while in this case he was only named a suspect today," he said.

Although it has named two suspects, the Bandung District Attorney's Office stated that it did not rule out the possibility of adding other suspects as the investigation of the case progresses.
