Damage from US-Israeli attacks in Iran reaches Rp4.6 trillion

JAKARTA - The damage caused by the joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran is estimated at 270 billion US dollars or around Rp. 4.6 trillion.

The figure, which is still a preliminary calculation, was revealed by Iranian Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, on Tuesday, April 14, as reported by the Tasnim News Agency.

"One of the issues that the negotiating team continues to pursue in the dialogue in Islamabad is compensation for war," Mohajerani told Russia's RIA Novosti news agency, quoted by ANTARA.

However, the figure of 270 billion US dollars is still not final.

"The damage usually needs to be examined in several layers," he said.

Tensions in the Gulf region have escalated after the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran in late February, leaving thousands dead and thousands more injured.

Iran then launched retaliatory attacks on Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf states, which host American military assets, before a two-week ceasefire was announced last weekend.

The Iranian and US delegations ended 21 hours of negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Sunday (12/4), but failed to reach any agreement.
