NUNUKAN - A total of 150 journalists from five districts/cities in North Kalimantan (Kaltara) are confirmed to take part in the Second Regional Journalist Sports Week (Porwada) which will be held in Nunukan Regency in July 2026.

The Chairman of the Siwo PWI Kaltara, Eliazar Simon, said that the certainty followed an agreement between the Provincial Government of Kaltara, the Nunukan Regency Government, and the Sports Journalists Section (Siwo) of the PWI Kaltara regarding the appointment and readiness of Nunukan as the host.

"The number of participants is an initial projection of the results of coordination with the regions, including Bulungan, Tarakan, Nunukan, Malinau, and Tana Tidung," said Eliazar, Monday, April 13.

"This number is realistic and reflects the enthusiasm of journalists in Kaltara to participate," he continued.

He explained that Porwada II will compete in a number of sports, including futsal, badminton, chess, billiards, e-sport, table tennis, athletics, and domino. In addition, the committee also held journalistic competitions such as writing, photography, radio reporting, and visual journalism.

"Preparations continue to be perfected, including the formation of a large committee involving Siwo from all districts/cities. The registration of contingents will be opened soon," he said.

"We are ready to host and make the implementation of Porwada II a success," said Alam.

The Chairman of the Sub-PB Porwada II Kaltara, Hasanuddin, added that the readiness of the venue was being rushed and received support from KONI Nunukan. Cross-organizational sports coordination is also being carried out to ensure the smooth implementation.
