Putin welcomes Prabowo: Cooperation is encouraged when the world is uncertain

JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin considers President Prabowo Subianto's visit to the Kremlin to have great significance in the midst of an unstable world.

Putin emphasized that Russia welcomes Indonesia's steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sector.

"This visit is very important, given the current world developments," Putin said.

He also highlighted cross-cultural and interreligious relations, including an appreciation for Prabowo's Easter greetings, the leader of the country with the largest Muslim population.

Meanwhile, Prabowo emphasized that relations between the two countries had moved quickly in recent months. He also appreciated Russia's support for Indonesia's interests, including in international forums such as BRICS.

In the meeting, there was also a push for acceleration. Prabowo admitted that there were still agreements that had not been completed and needed to be accelerated.

This meeting shows that the Indonesia-Russia relationship is strengthening, but is also being tested by an unstable global dynamic.
