Head of the Aceh Regional Command Post (Kaposwil) Aceh Task Force for Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR), Safrizal ZA, dismissed the narrative on social media that the government had given up on handling post-flood mud in Aceh. He emphasized that the cleaning process was still going on intensively and showed real progress in the field.

Safrizal also clarified his statement regarding the term "heavy" which had been misinterpreted by a number of parties. According to him, the term reflects the hard work of the team in the field, not a form of inability.

"We need to emphasize, for us 'heavy' means having to work hard and never give up. All of this cannot be done instantly. The spirit is a positive spirit to complete responsibilities, not to mean giving up. 'Heavy' is the reality of the field we are conquering together," said Safrizal in his statement, Monday, April 13, 2026.

Based on the operational data of the Task Force, out of a total of 519 locations that were targeted for cleaning in Aceh, 480 locations have been completed.

Meanwhile, the remaining 39 locations are still in the process of being worked on. These locations are generally located in densely populated residential areas with narrow drainage systems, so they require more careful manual handling.

To speed up the process, personnel support continues to be optimized at crucial points. In the Aceh Tamiang area, the Task Force deployed Praja IPDN personnel to help accelerate the cleaning of public facilities and the environment of residents so that they can be used again.

In addition, Safrizal also explained the continuation of the second phase of the Cash for Work (solid work) program which involves the direct participation of affected people. In Pidie Jaya Regency, specifically in Meureudu and Meurah Dua Districts, this program is underway by involving 392 participants.

"The strength in Pidie Jaya consists of 300 local residents, 80 Satpol PP and BPBD personnel, and is accompanied by 12 TNI/Polri personnel. The first wave of implementation took place on April 6-8 and will continue on April 14-17. This is proof that the government and the community are shoulder to shoulder in the field," he explained.

Safrizal appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by incomplete information on social media. He ensured that all vital infrastructure and national roads in Phase I had been completed 100 percent since January, and currently the Task Force is focusing on completing the cleaning of residential areas.

"Data is the facts, and our work is real. We will not stop until the last location is completely finished. We invite the public to remain optimistic in welcoming the next phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction," he concluded.
