Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi said the presidential letter (surpres) regarding the Draft Law (RUU) on BPIP has been issued, so that follow-up discussions with the DPR RI are needed.

"Based on the communication of the Sestama BPIP with the Secretary General of the DPR RI on February 20, information was obtained that a presidential letter regarding the BPIP bill had been issued. BPIP requests a follow-up discussion of the BPIP bill and DIM (inventory list of problems) between the DPR RI and the government," said Yudian as quoted by Antara.
The BPIP bill had previously been approved as a DPR RI initiative bill in the 10th Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI in the 2025-2026 Session Year II in December 2025.
Yudian explained, based on the government's agreement, the list of inventory of problems (DIM) of the BPIP bill was compiled by the Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), the Minister of Law, and the Minister of Finance.
In the process, the Minister of PANRB is appointed as the coordinator for the preparation of DIM. He can also involve the Ministry of Defense, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and BPIP.
According to Yudian, BPIP together with the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Law, and the Ministry of Finance has coordinated the preparation of the BPIP bill since January 2026.
"Based on the letter from the Head of BPIP Number 1/DH/01/2026/SU.04 dated January 22 regarding the submission of the DIM list of the BPIP Bill, BPIP has submitted the proposed DIM formula to the Minister of PANRB as input as the government coordinator," he said.
The DIM of the BPIP bill was then officially submitted by the coordinator of the drafters to President Prabowo Subianto in early February 2026 before the surprise regarding the policy was published.

Chairman of Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Willy Aditya, said that the discussion would continue comprehensively to clarify the position of the institution.
"The strengthening of the BPIP is carried out by continuing to discuss the BPIP bill comprehensively to clarify the position, duties, functions, and authority of the BPIP," said Willy.
