JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is trying to strengthen the public complaint system through the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) application following the findings of alleged manipulation of follow-up reports by officials in the field.

This strengthening is carried out by the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office with a focus on technology and supervision aspects, as well as responding to community reports that also monitor the complaint system.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Information and Communication Technology Office, Budi Awaluddin, said his party also found indications of the problem and was preparing steps to improve it.

"We have also found the incident (alleged manipulation), and it is our concern to make a solution, in accordance with the directions of the Governor and the Deputy Governor. For this reason, we are strengthening the JAKI system, both in terms of technology and supervision," said Budi to reporters, Thursday, April 9.

The system strengthening is carried out with a number of updates, ranging from report validation to fraud detection. This step is taken to ensure that citizen reports are actually followed up according to conditions in the field.

"In the future, there will be improvements such as stricter photo validation, the use of documentation directly from the field (real-time capture), and the development of features to detect potential manipulation/fraud/AI," he said.

In addition to technology improvements, the Provincial Government has also prepared sanctions for parties who are proven to have manipulated reports. This affirmation is carried out to maintain public confidence in the complaint system.

"We also emphasize that any party involved will be sanctioned if it is proven to have manipulated the report. This is important to maintain integrity and trust in the existing complaint system," said Budi.

On the other hand, the DKI Provincial Government continues to open space for public participation in overseeing the performance of services. The role of the community is considered important to detect problems from the beginning.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Diskominfotik very appreciates the role of the community who participated in escorting and delivering the findings related to the report at JAKI. This is important for us to continue to improve to provide the best service for the community," he said.

Efforts to strengthen are also carried out from the internal side, including training field officers and encouraging regional device leaders to be more active in monitoring incoming reports.

"We ensure that every public report remains a concern and we will continue to maintain the quality and integrity of its handling," he concluded.
