JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Coordinator of the Prabowo Digital Team (PRIDE) Volunteers, Anthony Leong, emphasized that the legitimacy of President Prabowo Subianto's power has been built on a solid and strong democratic foundation.

He reminded that in a state of law, the change or mandate of power is born from an electoral mechanism, not based on mass pressure on the streets.

According to Anthony, the mandate obtained by Prabowo is the result of a democratic process that must be respected by all elements of the nation.

"President Prabowo Subianto obtained the mandate of the people through a legitimate democratic process. Therefore, every criticism must be conveyed within the constitutional corridor, not through a narrative of delegitimization that has the potential to damage the democratic order itself," said Anthony, Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Although he views criticism as a vital element in democracy, Anthony emphasized the importance of ethics and the use of data in conveying aspirations.

He warned that efforts to encourage a change of power through extra-constitutional channels would only create uncertainty that would harm national stability.

"The uncertain global conditions should make us solid in the country and support giving input to the government in the right way," he said.

Political stability, continued Anthony, is the main key to economic growth.

He referred to the experience of many countries where political instability always leads to economic slowdown, market volatility, and loss of business confidence.

He assessed that Indonesia needs a conducive political atmosphere so that big agendas such as job creation and strengthening national competitiveness can run without obstacles.

Anthony's statement is in line with the concerns expressed by President Prabowo Subianto during the Red and White Cabinet working meeting at the Presidential Palace, Wednesday.

The President highlighted the threat of hoaxes and slander, which is now much more dangerous thanks to the help of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

"Before, send troops, send bombs, now it's not necessary. Maybe with social media games, with slander, hoaxes," said Prabowo.

The President explained that the sophistication of current information systems allows one individual to control thousands of accounts to spread destructive narratives.

In response to this, Anthony invited the public and academics to continue to prioritize a solution narrative to maintain national unity.

"Differences of opinion are a natural thing in democracy, but it must be managed with responsibility so that it does not develop into social and economic disruption," he concluded.
