JAKARTA - The controversy over the use of artificial intelligence (AI) based photos in the report on handling illegal parking on Jalan Damai, Kalisari, East Jakarta, resulted in sanctions being imposed on the relevant officers.

Previously, this complaint was submitted on social media. Where, residents suspected that the follow-up report at JAKI by officers was conveyed through a photo of handling illegal parking that was edited using AI features.

Lurah Kalisari Siti Nurhasanah apologized for the incident. He admitted that the upload became a public concern and tarnished the trust in the reporting of handling in the field.

"We apologize for this incident. This is a lesson for us so that it does not happen again in the future. The concerned officer has been given SP1 and made a statement not to repeat his actions," said Siti, Monday, April 6.

He explained that the public infrastructure and facilities handling officers (PPSU) had followed up on citizen reports regarding illegal parking that entered through JAKI. However, in its implementation, the report was accompanied by photos of the results of engineering that depicted as if the conditions at the location were orderly.

"This action then went viral on social media. I have asked that when there are problems or obstacles in the field, they should immediately report so that solutions can be found," he explained.

According to Siti, the problem of illegal parking in her area often arises and its handling is not always simple. Usually, the discipline is carried out together with the Satpol PP and the Traffic Service, although in certain conditions it is also handled by the PPSU when the report is returned to the village.

To prevent similar incidents, the village government plans to hold a coordination meeting with various related parties, including workshop and vehicle owners, as well as transportation elements at the sub-district level.

"We will discuss this issue together so that it does not happen again in the future," he said.

Siti revealed that the conditions at the location until now have not been completely orderly. There are still a number of vehicles parked on the road, including vehicles in a damaged condition.

"We ask that the Sub-Department and the Transportation Unit can take action because parking on the road violates the rules and disturbs other residents," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Jakarta Transportation Service, Harlem Simanjuntak, ensured that his party had instructed officers to carry out direct checks on the ground.

He emphasized that the action in the form of towing vehicles remained an option if necessary, provided that the clarity of vehicle ownership must be ensured to avoid new problems.

"This step must be accompanied by clarity of responsibility for vehicles to avoid new problems later," said Harlem.
