JAKARTA - The Russian Embassy in Paris said more than 400 Russian citizens were arrested in France amid the Ukraine war.

"The embassy has information about 411 Russian citizens who have been arrested and are under investigation," the diplomatic mission reported to RIA Novosti, Monday, April 6.

According to the report, French authorities, in most cases, do not inform embassies about the detentions.

Most of the information related to the arrest came from the victim's family or lawyer.

The diplomats added that 54 Russian citizens are serving sentences in France, after being found guilty by local courts.

At the end of March, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian citizens should refrain from visiting unfriendly countries and assess the risks when planning a trip.
