Driver of Yamaha V-Xion Died After Being Hit by a Truck in Blitar

JAKARTA - One person was reported dead when an accident occurred between a motorcycle and a truck on the public road in Soso Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency, East Java which caused one person to die.

Blitar Police Public Relations Officer Aiptu Saeful Muheni, Sunday, said the accident started from a Yamaha V-Xion motorcycle rider, DEW (33) riding with his partner.

"The motorcycle vehicle was traveling from south to north. Entering the public road of Soso Village, Gandusari District, there was a collision with a truck traveling from north to south," he said.

He said the motorcyclist, DEW, a man who is a resident of Tegalrejo Village, Semen Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency, was known to have died.

Meanwhile, his colleague, with the initials TA (25) who is also a man, a resident of Semen Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency, was injured. The victim was then treated at the Wlingi District Hospital, Blitar Regency.

For the driver of the truck with the initials RJA (23), a resident of Bandung Village, Donomulyo Village/Subdistrict, Malang Regency.

The truck driver was in good condition, and did not suffer serious injuries after the collision.

His party suspects that the incident was due to the motorcycle driver's lack of concentration while driving. The police are currently processing this case, including asking for information from the victims and witnesses.

"The initial conclusion is due to human factors, the driver of the motorcycle vehicle is not concentrated. The incident is currently being handled by the Blitar Police's laka unit," he said.

He also appealed to all road users to always obey traffic regulations and always be careful considering the current rainy season.

"Don't drive if you are under the influence of alcohol, if you are sleepy, immediately pull over and rest in a safe place, keep a safe distance, don't get too close to other vehicles, don't overtake either from the right or left if there is not enough space," he said.

He also reminded motorists to always concentrate on driving and be ethical on the road so that they can create security, safety, order, and traffic flow.

"Take care of your own safety and that of others while driving because your family is always waiting at home. Love your life as you love your family," he said.
