MATARAM - The Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara, are handling a case of alleged violations of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE) by uploading photos and videos on Facebook showing bread on a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) package containing maggots.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok Police, AKP Punguan Hutahaean, said that the handling of this case was only in the investigation stage.
"Therefore, the parties are now being asked for clarification regarding this matter," he said.
The reporter in this case was revealed to be an Indonesian Development Activist (SPPI) named Alman Putra. Alman is also the owner of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or kitchen that distributes MBG packages that are suspected of containing maggots.
The reported person is the owner of a Facebook account who uploaded photos and videos of MBG bread containing maggots. They are two housewives from Ketara Village, Central Lombok Regency, Jamiatul Munawaroh and Baiq Restu Tunggal Kencana.
One of the reported, Jamiatul Munawaroh, was recorded uploading a video content of bread in an MBG package through his personal Facebook account on March 10, 2026.
In a 22-second upload, Jamiatul showed MBG bread containing maggots, but did not mention the name of the institution, the name of the individual, or a specific address.
Jamiatul immediately deleted the video upload a few minutes after he uploaded it.
Based on the report, Punguan explained that the request for clarification from these parties was under the control of the Special Criminal Investigation Unit (Tipidter) of the Central Lombok Police.
"After all the investigations are completed, a case will be held to determine whether or not there is an element of a criminal offense," he said.
