JAKARTA - Ucok's Pasar Minggu Environmental Implementation Unit officers said that the restriction on the waste disposal quota at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing (TPST) had an impact on the accumulation of waste on Jalan Masjid Al-Makmur, South Jakarta, especially around the railway near Pasar Minggu Station.
"It has a big impact. The waste is more here because the quota in Bantargebang is limited so that it doesn't slide again," said Ucok as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 1.
He said the restrictions were imposed after the landslide in Bantargebang TPST.
After the landslide on March 8, 2026, the quota for transporting garbage was reduced from 308 trucks to 190 trucks per day.
"Before the restrictions, waste transportation from the Pasar Minggu area was normal without a quota system. But now the delivery must be done gradually," said Ucok.
As a result, he said, waste is longer in temporary storage locations, including in areas that are not actually intended as disposal sites.
According to him, this condition also makes officers have to work extra to control the volume of garbage so that it does not overflow.
In addition to the quota restriction factor, the accumulation was also triggered by residents who threw garbage indiscriminately at the location.
"There is already a ban, but there are still people who throw it here," said Ucok.
In one day, officers transported garbage using one truck to TPST Bantargebang. However, due to restrictions, the transportation process cannot be carried out at once.
Furthermore, he added that officers continue to work every day without a holiday, including during the Lebaran period, to ensure that garbage does not pile up too high.
"Where is the garbage on the holiday. Yesterday's Eid was still working," said Ucok.
He also hopes for a long-term solution from the government to overcome the capacity limitations at TPST Bantargebang and improve the waste management system at the regional level.
Previously, a number of residents were found still throwing garbage in a wild garbage disposal (TPS) on Jalan Masjid Al-Makmur, in the railway area of Pasar Minggu Station, South Jakarta, despite there being a ban from the government.
The ban on littering refers to DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2019 and Governor Regulation Number 102 of 2021 concerning waste management, complete with the threat of sanctions of fines of up to Rp. 10 million or imprisonment for three months.
