JAKARTA - The TNI Commander, General TNI Agus Subiyanto, emphasized the country's commitment to guarantee the rights and future of the families of soldiers who died while carrying out their duties as UN peacekeepers (UNIFIL) in Lebanon.

Apart from the promotion, Agus ensured that financial and educational support for the heirs of all TNI soldiers in the Garuda Contingent Task Force who died in Lebanon would be given to the maximum extent.

"The first will be given to all of them (Kenaikan Pangkat Luar Biasa), and then other rights from Asabri (insurance) may be Rp350 million will be given," said Agus after visiting the funeral home of one of the TNI soldiers who died in Lebanon, Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandardi Cimahi, West Java, Wednesday, April 1 reported by ANTARA.

Agus explained that the state also provided education scholarships of Rp30 million for the deceased's children, with a commitment to escort the school process until adulthood.

In terms of family welfare, Agus said the TNI would also provide 100 percent full salary for the next 12 months, plus old-age savings calculated from the beginning of military service.

Regarding the repatriation process, the TNI Commander stated that his party was intensively coordinating to repatriate the bodies to the country.

"We will immediately take care of the repatriation to Indonesia. It is being handled by the Commander of the PMPP (Peacekeeping Mission Center)," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the condition of other soldiers who were injured in the attack on the peace mission in Lebanon, Agus confirmed that they had received medical treatment at the local hospital.

"It's already in the hospital, it's been treated well, and we pray that everything will recover quickly," said Agus.

Previously, three TNI personnel on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission were reported to have died while on duty in Lebanon in March 2026.

Based on TNI data, those who fell were Head Soldier Farizal Rhomadhon, Sergeant First Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Captain (Inf) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar.

Fahrizal died as a result of an indirect artillery attack near Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, Sunday (29/3). Meanwhile, Nur Ichwan and Zulmi died due to vehicle explosions near Bani Haiyyan, Monday (30/3).
