Koops TNI Papua Seized 2 Senpi and 22 Bullets of KKB Ammunition in Topo

JAKARTA - A patrol team belonging to the Koops TNI found two guns and 22 rounds of ammunition of various calibers inside a house suspected of being a KKB headquarters around Topo, Nabire Regency, Central Papua.

Kapen Koops TNI Letkol Inf Wirya Arthadigunamengatakan senpi dan amunisi itu ditemukan setelah prajurit yang berpatroli berhasil memukul mundur anggota KKB melalui kontak tembak.

"Indeed, before finding the house which was later known as the KKB headquarters, there was a shootout around Kampung Topo, Nabire Regency, Saturday (21/3)," said Inf Lt. Col. Wirya as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 25.

Initially, while patrolling, the TNI soldier found suspicious activity in a location that was suspected to be used by an armed group and when the search was carried out to the location, there was a shootout that caused the KKB members to flee into the forest.

After conducting a search, a house was found inside which contained guns and ammunition along with the Bintang Kejora flag and various KKB members' equipment.

"The firearms secured were one P1 pistol and a shotgun and 14 rounds of 5.56 millimeter caliber ammunition, eight rounds of 9 millimeter caliber ammunition," said Lieutenant Colonel Inf Wirya.
