JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (MoD) together with the Indonesian National Army (TNI) is preparing steps to increase the efficiency of the use of fuel oil (BBM) to anticipate global geopolitical dynamics that have the potential to affect energy stability.
The Head of the Defense Information Bureau (Karo Infohan) of the General Secretariat (Setjen) of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General (Brigjen) TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, said that the anticipation step was in line with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions, which emphasized the importance of proactive steps and national efficiency.
"The steps that have been prepared include arranging the use of resources more effectively and based on priorities, including in the operation of alutsista and service mobility," said Rico, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 23.
Some fuel efficiency policies include adjusting the working days from five days to four days for certain functions, regulating the use of equipment based on priority indices and operational needs, limiting the use of official vehicles and transportation of employees, while still taking into account the effectiveness of task implementation.
Rico emphasized that this efficiency step is a form of readiness and discipline in the management of strategic resources, not because of emergency conditions.
He also ensured that the current national energy reserves remain in a safe condition.
"Through this step, the Ministry of Defense and the TNI invite all elements to jointly strengthen national resilience by prioritizing efficiency, responsibility, and the spirit of defending the country," said Rico.
