Bogor - The Bogor Police have confirmed that they will not impose a full one-way traffic system on the Puncak Tourist Route, Bogor Regency, West Java, until Eid al-Fitr.
Head of Operational Development Affairs (KBO) of the Bogor Police Satlantas, Iptu Ardian Novianto, said the policy was taken into account by considering the tradition of the community which still does a lot of social gatherings during the Eid.
"Traffic engineering will be implemented on H+1, because during the holidays we respect the culture of community relations. So we don't do the engineering first because we are afraid of many complaints," said Ardian as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 17.
He explained that until now the police had not planned to fully implement the one-way system on the Puncak Line during the Lebaran homecoming period.
According to him, the traffic engineering carried out is situational at certain points that are prone to vehicle congestion.
"For the time being, there is no full one way. The engineering that is carried out is usually a short time, such as opening and closing in Pasir Muncang or Cisarua Market," he said.
Ardian said that the open-close flow system is usually carried out at certain times, especially before the time of breaking the fast when the volume of vehicles increases.
In addition, the police also noted that the movement of travelers crossing the Puncak Line has begun to be seen in the last few days, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Based on field monitoring, an increase in vehicles was seen after the time of breaking the fast with a dominance of two-wheeled vehicles carrying additional items such as backpacks in the front of the motorcycle.
According to Ardian, some of the travelers who passed through the Puncak Route were medium-distance trips from the DKI Jakarta area to the southern part of West Java to some parts of Central Java.
However, the police predict that the peak of the homecoming flow on the Puncak Line will only occur near Eid al-Fitr.
