Dense Population Area in Cakung 3 RT is Hit by Fire

JAKARTA - The settlement of residents and stalls located on Jalan Swadaya PLN, RT 01, 09, 13 RW 02, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, was burned by fire, Monday, March 16, 2026.

"The objects burned 3 houses and a stall of 300 square meters," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat East Jakarta, Abdul Wahid.

As a result of the fire, 9 KK consisting of 31 people lost their homes.

The fire was only known to residents around after a fire appeared in one of the houses, then quickly the fire grew and spread to other buildings.

Residents reported the fire incident to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Directorate. After receiving the report, as many as 15 fire trucks were deployed to the location.

Then the total number of damkar personnel deployed was 75 people. Upon arrival at the location, officers immediately carried out a quick fire extinguishing. As a result, the fire was extinguished at 08.54 WIB.

"The current situation has been extinguished, the fire can be overcome. The cause is under investigation," he said.

There were no casualties or injuries in the fire. The losses due to the fire are still being calculated. Meanwhile, the houses that were burned were known to belong to Septo, Sugiono and Tarman.
