933 Joint Personnel Dispatched to Ensure Eid Holidays in East Kutai

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr long holiday, community mobility usually increases significantly. In ensuring that the public can celebrate Eid safely and comfortably, security personnel together with the local government have prepared various security measures, including placing hundreds of personnel at a number of strategic points, including in East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan.

A total of 933 joint personnel from the TNI, Polri, and East Kutai Regency Government agencies were alerted to maintain security during the Lebaran period on March 13-25, 2026.

Head of the East Kutai Police AKBP Fauzan Arianto said that the police together with all stakeholders were committed to providing maximum security through the Ketupat Mahakam 2026 Operation.

"The police together with stakeholders are committed to carrying out optimal security through the Ketupat Mahakam 2026 Operation to provide a sense of security and comfort for people celebrating Eid al-Fitr," said Fauzan in Sangatta, Sunday.

He explained that a total of 933 personnel involved in the security consisted of 432 members of the National Police, 141 TNI personnel, and 360 other personnel from local government elements and community elements in East Kutai Regency.

In addition to security at places of worship, tourist areas, and a number of roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, the East Kutai Police also prepared seven security and service posts which were placed at a number of strategic points.

"There is one integrated post at Simpang 3 Education North Sangatta, two posts at Kenyamukan Beach and Teluk Lombok Sangkima Beach in South Sangatta," said Fauzan.

Four other service posts are located along the Sangatta-Bontang axis road, namely in Teluk Pandan, then at Simpang 3 Peredau-Bengalon, Simpang 3 Sangkulirang Bridge, and one post at the SP4 roundabout in Kombeng District.

He said that all the posts were prepared to secure various objects and monitor traffic flow during the Lebaran homecoming and return flow.

For security of religious activities, his party has also mapped security on the night route of takbiran and the implementation of Eid al-Fitr prayers held at 155 mosques and 107 fields spread across East Kutai Regency.

Meanwhile, routine patrols and supervision will also continue to be improved during the Lebaran period. The Food Task Force is deployed every day to monitor the warehouses where basic necessities are stored.

"There are also patrols carried out in residential areas that are left to return home so that their homes are safe, then patrols at terminals, airports, return routes, axis routes, accident-prone points, possible disaster locations and in areas where criminal acts are likely to occur," said Fauzan.
