DENPASAR - To minimize the occurrence of criminal acts involving foreign nationals on the Island of the Gods, the Bali Regional Police is now monitoring foreigners through the Cakrawasi (Foreign Surveillance Chakra) application.

Head of the Bali Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Daniel Adityajaya, in his statement in Denpasar, Saturday, explained that the Cakrawasi or Cakra Foreigner Monitoring website is a digital platform to facilitate the monitoring and data collection of the presence and activities of foreigners in the Bali region quickly, accurately, and with guaranteed confidentiality.

"With this system, the risk of illegal activities, misuse of residence permits, and other violations of the law can be minimized and mitigated immediately," he said, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 14.

The Bali Police Chief said Bali is one of the world's tourist destinations that has special appeal, both in terms of natural beauty and cultural and customary wealth.

This condition makes Bali the main destination for foreign tourists to come on vacation or travel, even some of them want to stay longer in Bali at certain times.

According to data from the Bali Provincial Statistics Center (BPS) in 2025, the number of foreign tourists visiting Bali reached 7.05 million people.

The figure shows an increase of 750,000 people or 11.9 percent compared to 2024.

In addition, Bali's existence as a favorite tourism destination has attracted the attention of foreign and domestic investors to invest in Bali.

This makes Bali an investment destination with the most promising profit prospects in Indonesia.

On the one hand, said Daniel, this is a blessing and a great opportunity for Bali's economic growth and the advancement of tourism in Bali.

On the other hand, increased mobility and the presence of foreign nationals can also create vulnerabilities such as security risks and violations of laws involving foreign nationals in the Bali region, both as victims or even perpetrators themselves.

Starting from this condition, the Bali Police have developed the Cakrawasi website as an integrated surveillance system that is more adaptive and technology-based to anticipate potential vulnerabilities and violations of the law committed by foreigners in the Bali region.

The Police Chief explained that this website has been operating and undergoing a trial phase since December 5, 2025, involving the participation of various related agencies and stakeholders, as well as the support of accommodation service providers throughout Bali.

In line with the vision of the Bali Provincial Government in realizing quality tourism, the Bali Police have carried out socialization and various improvements to the Cakrawasi website to improve performance in maintaining order and compliance of foreign citizens with regulations applicable in Bali.

To support the optimization of the supervision of foreigners in Bali, the operationalization of the Cakrawasi website is also equipped with a Command Center as a control center, monitoring, processing, and analysis of data on the presence of foreigners in real time.

Through this facility, each incoming data and report can be verified, monitored, and followed up more responsively.

According to him, supervision by Immigration alone is not enough so that there needs to be other alternatives to be able to complete the cross-sectoral task.

"With this Cakrawasi, we can see their movements through hotel or lodging reports or others of the same type, so that when something strange happens, we can detect it," said Daniel.

In addition to being able to guarantee order and security, through Cakrawasi, the Bali Police can also facilitate the disclosure of cases if they occur, and can find out about business actors who have not been licensed. Complete licensing for business actors is very important to increase regional revenue with taxes.

The Bali Police hope that Cakrawasi's presence will be a sharp eye, a quick system, and a bridge of synergy between all stakeholders in keeping Bali safe, orderly, and dignified.

The Police Chief asked all parties involved in the field of lodging, hotels, villas, and so on, when providing data on foreign nationals must match the original passport data.

"Because of the experience of some perpetrators of crimes, they use more than one passport; enter using the original passport, so here the transaction uses a non-original or fake passport," he said.
