JAKARTA - The operation of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in the Pademawu, Buddagan, Pamekasan Regency, East Java area, was temporarily stopped after a report regarding the inconsistency of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) menu given to students in the form of raw catfish.

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) immediately conducted an inspection after receiving reports that the MBG menu was rejected by the school, due to concerns that it would have an impact on students.

"Based on the consideration of the BGN leadership, the problem was considered to have hindered the distribution process in the MBG Program. Therefore, the operations of the Pamekasan Pademawu Buddagan SPPG have been temporarily suspended," said Director of Regional Monitoring and Supervision II BGN, Albertus Dony Dewantoro, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 12.

Dony explained that this termination was carried out as a follow-up step for evaluation and improvement in the process of processing and serving food. During the suspension period, the parties concerned will conduct training and improve the operational system.

"SPPG operations will be reopened after the evaluation, training and improvement process is completed by the authorities. The government hopes that these improvements can ensure the quality and safety of food provided to students," he said.
