The Minister Of Home Affairs Hands Over The Viral Case Of The Angry Regent Of Alor To The Governor Of NTT

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said the central government handed over to the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat to resolve the issue of Alor Regent Amon Jobo (ANTARA)

KUPANG - Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian said the central government handed over to the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat to resolve the issue of Alor Regent Amon Jobo. The Regent had said unpleasant words to the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs has fully handed over the resolution of the issue to the NTT Governor as the representative of the central government in the regions," said the Minister of Home Affairs in Kupang, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

Tito said this was related to the circulation of a video about the threat statement made by Alor Regent Amon Jobo against Social Minister Tri Rismaharini which was widely circulated in this area.

The Minister of Home Affairs said that the central government has a mechanism to solve various problems involving regional heads.

According to him, the Ministry of Home Affairs as a coach and supervisor in providing guidance to the executive and legislature in the regions.

Before the Ministry of Home Affairs takes steps, said Tito, first, submit the matter to the Governor of NTT as the representative of the central government in the regions to resolve it.

"There are two positions for governors, namely as regional heads and representatives of the central government in the regions," he asserted.

Tito has communicated with the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat to immediately take steps to resolve the issue.

"The Governor of NTT will sort it out," said Tito.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Alor, Amon Jobo was not seen in the meeting with the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian with the regents/mayors throughout the NTT Province on Thursday, June 3.
