JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has set the official logo for the 500th Anniversary of Jakarta. The logo will become the identity of various activities leading up to the peak celebration of the five centuries of Jakarta on June 22, 2022.

The logo was determined after going through a bidding process involving public participation. From a number of works that entered, the committee first selected the 10 best designs, then screened them into five finalists before finally choosing one design as the official logo.

Pramono said the selected logo will be used by all regional government organizations (OPD) and regional business entities (BUMD) in various activities related to the 500th anniversary of Jakarta.

"We have decided on the selected logo. After this, I ask all OPDs, BUMD, and officials in the DKI Jakarta Government environment to help socialize and use the logo as an identity for activities in the 5-year anniversary of Jakarta," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, March 10.

Pramono explained that the logo does not replace the official visual identity of the DKI Jakarta Province that has been used so far. The logo is only a special symbol to mark a series of activities leading up to the five-century momentum of Jakarta.

In addition to discussing the establishment of the logo, the leadership meeting also touched on the "Mudik to Jakarta" program which was launched as part of the Jakarta Ramadan Festival. This program is prepared to take advantage of the relatively quiet condition of Jakarta during the Lebaran homecoming period.

The DKI Provincial Government considers that this situation can open economic opportunities, especially for the tourism and trade sectors in the capital. This program is also an effort to attract people to go on vacation and shop in Jakarta during the Lebaran holiday.

"We believe that homecoming will still occur in large numbers. The more relaxed condition of Jakarta can actually be an economic opportunity, especially for the tourism and trade sectors. Homecoming to Jakarta is a program that has just been held for the first time. Hopefully people can enjoy this program," said Pramono.

In the program, a number of shopping centers in Jakarta will provide large discounts through the Ramadan Sale program which will take place on March 4-31. The discounts offered can even reach 80 percent.

In addition to shopping promos, the DKI Provincial Government has also prepared a number of entertainment activities to attract public visits. Among them is the Hijab Fashion Show in the Tanah Abang area on March 12, 2026.

Then on March 19, 2026, the Eid Mubarak Festival, Tabuh Bedug Kolosal, and torch parade will be held, which will be centered in the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI) area.
