Landslide in Lebak Banten, Four Houses Reportedly Seriously Damaged

BANTEN - Four houses suffered heavy damage after being hit by a landslide that occurred in Tambakbaya Village, Cibadak District. The local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) temporarily evacuated the affected residents to a safe place.

The head of the Lebak Regency BPBD, Sukanta in Lebak, Sunday, said that over the past few days, heavy rainfall has hit Cibadak District, resulting in four houses being severely damaged.

The condition of the residents' house is on the edge of the Ciujung River which has experienced landslides.

His party has sent officers to the location to conduct data collection related to the damage caused by the landslide.

"We ask the public to increase the potential for landslides, in connection with heavy rainfall that tends to increase," said Sukanta, quoting ANTARA, March 8.

The head of the Cibadak District, Apip Saepudin, said four houses were severely damaged and three families were affected, but there were no casualties in the incident. The victims were evacuated to a safe place, because the rain was still pouring heavily and it was feared that it could trigger a landslide.

"We have been sent to the location with joint officers to evacuate residents, because the rain is still pouring heavily, it is feared that it could trigger a landslide," said Apip.

Meanwhile, Saepudin, a resident of Tambakbaya, Cibadak District, Lebak Regency, said that the condition of his house was severely damaged by landslides so that it had to be demolished.

He was worried that his house would collapse due to a subsequent landslide, especially since the rain was still going on.

"We are together with three families and 25 people have been displaced to the houses of parents and relatives," said Saepudin.
